Why: The second half of the Victoria Symphony鈥檚 virtual season gets underway tonight with Debussy & Ravel: 脌 la Fran莽aise, a program of 19th century French classics. The pre-recorded concert, conducted by Giuseppe Pietraroia, will spotlight Claude Debussy鈥檚 Afternoon of a Faun and Pavane for a Dead Princess, along with Maurice Ravel鈥檚 popular Mother Goose. Stay tuned: Debussy & Ravel, which arrives on victoriasymphony.ca at 7:30 p.m., kicks off a run of new symphony performances that are scheduled to arrive every two weeks until the end of June.

Why: Miroslav Volf 鈥� a theology professor at Yale University and author of numerous books, including Exclusion and Embrace: A Theological Exploration of Identity, Otherness, and Reconciliation 鈥� is tonight鈥檚 guest in the University of Victoria鈥檚 livestream speaker series Values for a New World. Produced by the university鈥檚 Centre for Studies in Religion and Society, the event features a 90-minute presentation by Volf and the opportunity to ask questions during an open forum after Volf鈥檚 talk.
