Local artists can now submit their artwork to the City of Victoria for use in a program that will beautify downtown kiosks and storefronts in 2021.
The program will display original art by local artists on eight signage kiosks around Victoria, in addition to vacant storefront windows. Empty commercial spaces animated through the program will be done so with art presented as vinyl wraps.
鈥淐reating space opportunities for new and established artists and illustrators is essential to fostering a city rich with everyday artistic encounters, especially during the pandemic,鈥� said Mayor Lisa Helps.
To qualify, artists must live in the capital region or the Gulf Islands.
The deadline for submissions is Jan. 11 at 4 p.m. Hard copies will not be accepted. Proposals can be submitted via e-mail to [email protected].
