The longest days of the year are the perfect time to visit Butchart Gardens, and on Saturdays until Aug. 31, you might be tempted to stay after the sun sets for the weekly fireworks show.
Summer is high season, with hundreds of thousands of visitors coming to view 900 bedding plant varieties spread out over 22 hectares of gardens.
The warm summer days are usually busy during daylight hours. The gardens have Night Illuminations to entice visitors to linger longer.
The air is filled with the ever-changing sound of live entertainment on stage every night in July and August.
Come on a Saturday with a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy fireworks choreographed by Christopher Ross, Gardens founder Jennie Butchart鈥檚 great-grandson. The entertainment show and fireworks are included in the price of regular admission.
The show begins at 7:15, followed by fireworks at 10:15 p.m. Saturday at Butchart Gardens, 800 Benvenuto Ave. in Brentwood Bay.
