Bohemian Rhapsody begins Imax Victoria run

The most profitable musical biopic in movie history will begin a three-week run of showings at Imax Victoria on Friday, March 1. Bohemian Rhapsody, the Oscar-winning film about Freddie Mercury and Queen, opens at 8:15 p.m. Friday.

The most profitable musical biopic in movie history will begin a three-week run of showings at Imax Victoria on Friday, March 1.

Bohemian Rhapsody, the Oscar-winning film about Freddie Mercury and Queen, opens at 8:15 p.m. Friday. It will also screen at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, before moving to a 7:15 p.m. showtime on Sunday, where it will remain for the majority of its daily run through March 21.

Bohemian Rhapsody was nominated for five awards at last week鈥檚 Academy Awards gala, including Best Picture. Rami Malek won Best Actor for his moving performance as Mercury. Bohemian Rhapsody also won trophies for editing, sound and sound editing.

The film has grossed more than $861 million US worldwide on a budget of $52 million, making it one of the most successful films in recent years.

Tickets are $15.95 for adults, $13.50 for seniors, $14 for students, $13.50 for youth and $8.65 for children. Reserved seating is available at . Imax Victoria is at 675 Belleville St., inside the building that houses the Royal B.C. Museum.
