Black Pumas, Jungle, Earl Sweatshirt to headline Phillips series

Grammy Award nominees Black Pumas, British neo-funk favourites Jungle, acclaimed Los Angeles rapper Earl Sweatshirt, and pop star Noah Cyrus highlight the Phillips Backyard line-up, which was announced Tuesday.

The Phillips Backyard Festival Series will run July 5-7 and Aug. 9-11 this summer, with several top-tier acts signed on to headline during the popular event.

Grammy Award nominees Black Pumas, British neo-funk favourites Jungle, acclaimed Los Angeles rapper Earl Sweatshirt, and pop star Noah Cyrus — the younger sister of Miley Cyrus — highlight the festival line-up, which was announced Tuesday. Orville Peck, Jessie Reyez, Saint Motel, Half Moon Run, and Current Swell are among the other notable names appearing over six days of programming at the Government Street brewery.

The line-up for Tilt! (July 5-7) features Orville Peck, Noah Cyrus, Jessie Reyez, Saint Motel, Half Moon Run, Flyana Boss, Hotel Mira, Goldie Boutilier, SonReal, Liinks, Vox Rea, Haleluya Hailu, Teon Gibbs, OK Charlie and Born Reckless. Reverb (Aug. 9-11) includes Black Pumas, Earl Sweatshirt, Jungle, DRAMA, Cautious Clay, Current Swell, Astrocolor, DJ Murge, Saundra Williams, The Bankes Brothers, Nicky MacKenzie, Jungle Bobby, Surf Hat, TK the Artist, Trophy Dad and Posh Coat.

The Phillips Backyard Festival Series, now in its third year, features a mix of local performers, up-and-coming 91原创 artists, and international acts. The event has welcomed Anderson Paak, Fleet Foxes, Future Islands, and The Beaches in previous years, which annually draws thousands of attendees.

The upcoming edition is by far the strongest one to date. Black Pumas have earned seven Grammy nominations over two albums, while Jungle — which performed last week at the Coachella festival — won group of the year at the Brit Awards in March. Earl Sweatshirt was a member of Tyler, the Creator’s influential Odd Future collective, while Noah Cyrus has amassed over three billion streams on YouTube and Spotify.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. through phillipsbackyard.com. Single day tickets are $99. Weekend passes ($255) and double weekend passes ($475) are also available.
