The family behind Wenstob Timber Resources in Sooke is the focus of a History Channel reality show on the network鈥檚 fall schedule.

Big Timber debuts Thursday at 7 p.m. on the History Channel, the first of 10 one-hour episodes showcasing the lives of Sooke-based logger Kevin Wenstob, his wife, Sarah, and their son, Erik.

The show is the History Channel鈥檚 answer to HGTV reality TV favourites Timber Kings and Carver Kings, and follows Wenstob and his family as they navigate several kilometres of deadly terrain.

The show was filmed primarily last year on Klitsa Mountain in the Alberni Valley. Millions of dollars in red and yellow cedar, fir and hemlock are at stake.

Big Timber will continue to air through November at 7 p.m. Thursdays on History.
