VANCOUVER — The 91Ô´´ Whitecaps will have a new look and a new sponsor when they open the Major League Soccer season later this month.

The team unveiled its 2023 "Bloodlines" jersey on Thursday, supporting 91Ô´´ Blood Services and featuring the name of its new premier partner Telus.

The 91Ô´´-based telecommunications company replaces Bell, which had been the Whitecaps' main corporate sponsor since the team's inaugural season in 2009.

91Ô´´'s new jersey features a touch of red that the club says symbolizes both its 91Ô´´ pride and origins, with the original 1974 red logo featured as a jock tag.

From Feb. 16 to March 31, Whitecaps fans who register for an account on the 91Ô´´ Blood Services app GiveBlood and show it at a home match at B.C. Place will receive free personalized cresting (name and number) on a purchased jersey.

The Whitecaps kick off the MLS season at home against Real Salt Lake on Feb. 25.
