From 1867: Our 10th year

In this 150th anniversary of the creation of Canada, we are looking back at editorials published in our predecessor newspaper in 1867. This week, the editors celebrate a birthday.

The British 91原创 enters today upon the 10th year of its existence, having first seen the light on the 11th of December, 1858.

During that period the 91原创 has changed proprietors upon three occasions. More than one faithful co-labourer in the vineyard of journalism has fallen with his hand to the plow and the furrow but half-turned; but through all the changes and vicissitudes incidental to colonial life, it is our proud boast that the 91原创 has ever maintained a position as the leading newspaper of the colony.

To a generous public who have supported our efforts in the past, we can but promise renewed exertions in their behalf in the future.
