A two-decade tradition designed to help restaurants and hotels weather the off-season is back for 2025.
Dine Around and Stay in Town will run from Jan. 24 to Feb. 9, with special offers from a mix of restaurants and accommodations.
More than 50 restaurants are participating with set-price, three-course menus at $25 to $75 per person.
Although the event typically focuses on dinner menus, this year some establishments are also offering Dine Around breakfast, brunch and lunch menus.
New participating restaurants include Bin 4 Burger Lounge, Rudi, Table Nineteen, Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse, Saxe Point Public House, MeeT on Blanshard and Jacks on the Water.
Peter DeBruyn, provincial chair of the Victoria chapter of the B.C. Restaurant and Food Services Association, said Dine Around has been showcasing the creativity of the region’s chefs for more than 20 years.
“This year’s specially curated menus will feature some of the best farmed and foraged ingredients the region has to offer,” DeBruyn said.
Meanwhile, participating Greater Victoria hotels, which this year include Days Inn on the Harbour, are offering rates of $139 to $259 a night.
January is typically a slower period for Greater Victoria’s hospitality industry, so events like Dine Around and Stay in Town play an important role in supporting restaurants and hotels as well as the broader visitor economy in Greater Victoria, said Paul Nursey, CEO of Destination Greater Victoria.
The event kicks off Jan. 23 with a gala at the Crystal Garden.
Early-bird tickets are on sale now for $100. Once those are sold out, regular gala tickets will be available for $120 plus tax. Gala attendees enjoy unlimited bites and beverages.
