The 2nd聽in the current series of聽Building the Future聽talks will be on聽Saturday evening, November 5th聽with Deloria Bighorn, who will present the 30-minute film,聽The Path Home:聽Reflections on聽Truth and聽Reconciliation.听
We鈥檙e honoured to have Deloria,聽a member of the聽鈥婲ational Spiritual聽Assembly of the Bah谩'铆s of Canada, as our speaker.
Deloria is passionate about the message of this film, commissioned by the National Spiritual Assembly to honour the work of those who contributed to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.听 At its release in Ottawa, she said in her role of MC,聽鈥淯nity among the Aboriginal peoples, unity with the rest of 91原创 society and unity with all the peoples of the world are vital if justice and social well-being are to be assured.鈥
From 91原创 to Montreal,聽elders and youth, the individuals in this moving film spoke from their聽hearts and entrusted their stories to聽the movement towards unity.听
The presentation will take place in the Auditorium (entrance off parking lot), Cook St. Activity Centre,聽, followed by discussion and聽refreshments.听Doors open at聽6:40 p.m.; the talk will begin at聽7 p.m.听Parking is limited so guests are requested to arrive in time to find street parking if necessary, and be seated.听
