Join us on Tuesday, August 6th to celebrate peace, launch lanterns, and enjoy Japanese culture at the Gorge Park Pavilion, 1070 Tillicum Rd., at the foot of the Japanese Garden.
Lantern-making will begin at 6:00 pm indoors on the ground floor, with all materials provided. The program will begin at 7:30 pm outdoors and end shortly before the 9 pm launching of the lanterns in the Pavilion reflecting pools. Among the performers and presenters will be:

- MC Dr. Dillon Takata
- Tsugio Kurushima, Nikkei Society
- Furusato Dancers
- Uminari Taiko Drummers
- Gettin' Higher Choir
- Margaret Krawciw reading: "Children of the A-Bomb"
People are asked to bring lawn chairs or a blanket if possible; some chairs will be available.
