Rockslide closes Highway 12 near Lytton

A rockslide over the weekend on Highway 12 near Lytton has closed the road in both directions. The slide, which has left a giant boulder in the middle of the road, occurred 24 kilometres north of Lytton to the junctions with Highway 99 at Lillooet.

A rockslide over the weekend on Highway 12 near Lytton has closed the road in both directions.

The slide, which has left a giant boulder in the middle of the road, occurred 24 kilometres north of Lytton to the junctions with Highway 99 at Lillooet.

The road will remain closed pending a geotechnical assessment today, according to Drive BC.

BC Highway 1 was also blocked for a couple hours westbound 17 kilometres north of Spences Bridge due to rockfall. The highway is now clear.
