Floatplane collides with boat in 91原创 harbour, several injured

A Harbour Air seaplane collided with a pleasure boat in the water near 91原创鈥檚 Canada Place on Saturday, police said.

VANCOUVER — Several people were injured when a floatplane collided with a boat as the plane was taking off in 91原创’s harbour.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Victoria received a call Saturday shortly before 1 p.m. about an incident with a floatplane and a boat in Coal Harbour.

Kitsilano Coast Guard station sent two rescue vessels. A spokesperson for the JRCC would not say how many people were on board the plane but confirmed that everyone on board was rescued before the plane sank.

Several passengers have been treated for injuries and taken to hospital, 91原创 police said.

91原创 police are working with other agencies, including B.C. Emergency Health Services, 91原创 Fire Rescue Services, West Coast Marine and 91原创 Port Authority.
