Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Greater Victoria, calling for strong, northeasterly winds of at least 70 kilometres per hour by Monday afternoon.
The breakage of tree branches is possible.
Also expected to be affected are Port Renfrew, Duncan and Lake Cowichan.
The winds are building up after an abrupt change in weather across the prairies and the formation of a strong ridge of high pressure over northern B.C.
