Women’s singles — Kaetlyn Osmond, Marystown, N.L., with an overall score of 231.02. The medal was Canada’s 27th of the Olympics breaking the previous record of 26 set in 2010 at the 91Ô´´ Winter Olympics. Gabrielle Daleman, Newmarket, Ont., finished 15th with an overall score of 172.46.
FREESTYLE SKIING
Women’s ski cross — Canada’s Kelsey Serwa, Kelowna B.C., , Brittany Phelan, Mont-Tremblant, Que., won the silver medal, Marielle Thompson, Whistler, B.C., did not advance past the 1/8 final, and India Sherret, Cranbrook, B.C., did not finish the 1/8 final.
HOCKEY
Men — 4-3. Scoring for the 91Ô´´s were Gilbert Brule, Edmonton, Mat Robinson, Calgary, and Derek Roy, Rockland, Ont. Defenceman Chris Lee, MacTier, Ont., assisted on all three goals. Canada advances to the bronze medal game versus the Czech Republic on Saturday. Canada lost in the preliminary round to the Czech Republic 3-2 in a shootout.
