Victoria police are seeking witnesses and information following a violent sexual assault Monday night.
Police said they were called just before 11:30 p.m. to the 600-block of Pembroke Street. A man assaulted and then sexually assaulted a victim inside a fenced area between Pembroke and Princess Avenue.
It is believed the incident happened about 10 p.m.
Paramedics took the victim to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, who wore a surgical mask, is described as Black, 30 to 40 years old and about six feet tall with a slim build. He wore jeans and a T-shirt and was described as 鈥渨ell-dressed.鈥�
He spoke with an accent the victim thought was East African, and was pushing an older-style racing bicycle.
