Developers for Victoria's Tuscany development are aiming for old-world ambience on the outside and new-world smarts on the inside of their new condominium community.
John Vickers, president of Victoria-based Bay Systems Inc., a provider of high-end technology systems to the residential market says that Tuscany Village will offer unique high-technology options, from wall-mounted televisions to motorized blinds. These are items ordinarily found only in what might described as the upper niche of the high end real estate market.
"We are finding that given the opportunity, many purchasers for instance like the idea of not having to have home theatre wiring exposed on floors," says Vickers. "With some technology planning, we can provide in-wall wire runs to keep everything neat the way it should be."
Vickers points out that in-wall cables and wall-mounted television screens provide an added bonus in condominiums where floor space is at a premium. The Tuscany may be positioned to be a technology leader in Victoria's condominium market. The new development will also include a hi-speed data/video network distribution system, a kitchen entertainment centre, an iPod in-wall docking station and an under-the-counter water filtration system.
"We are just responding with the times," says Tuscany developer Doug Foord. "Technology within the home is really about entertainment, comfort and convenience."
