Island Outfitters, the fishing and hunting store gutted by an arson fire in January, will reopen this fall in a new location in View Royal.

The company said in a social media post it will be located in the building formerly occupied by Andre鈥檚 Electronics and McKays at 1681-A Island Highway. No specific date to reopen is mentioned.

A request for comment was not immediately returned.

鈥2020 so far has been a crazy year, and we think that it is time to share some good news,鈥 Island Outfitters said in a social media post. 鈥淲e cannot be more excited to get back to what we love.鈥

No one was hurt in the early-morning fire on Jan. 4, which fire departments said was started in storage sheds in the rear of the building on Douglas Street near Cloverdale Avenue. It was later called an arson by Victoria and Saanich fire departments.

The company has been closed since, although its fishing charter business has continued to operate.
