- Anand Prakash will be signing copies of his cookbook The World of Kebabs and barbecuing samples at the Woodgrove Save-on-Foods, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

- Tabasco the Saucy Raccoon will be formally launched at the Nanaimo Arts Council Gallery in Rutherford Mall, noon to 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and meet the author Lyn Hancock and illustrator Loraine Kemp.

- Nanaimo Art Gallery Malaspina campus location presents Salon 2006, The Harbour City Photography Club's annual photo competition in the upper gallery and the Federation of 91原创 Artists summer juried art show in the lower gallery.
