Time is running out for artists to enter the Nanaimo Arts Council's annual Summer Showcase. This open, juried show will feature cash prizes in three categories and has a deadline for entries of July 3.
This open, juried visual art show will be on display for the month of July in the new Nanaimo Arts Council Gallery in Rutherford mall and will feature the best local artwork of the year. Cash prizes will be awarded in three categories, including photography, three dimensional works and two dimensional works.
Artists should get their entries in as soon as possible, as recent showcases have been very popular. October's Autumn Showcase received over 150 entries and was one of the Arts Council's most popular shows ever. Last year's Summer Showcase brought in over 120 entries, including some of the most beautiful artworks of the year.
An opening reception will be held on July 13 from 7 p.m. to 9 pm. Entry fees range from $10 to $15 with entry forms available at the gallery in Rutherford Mall. All entries must be in by July 3.
