Romance is in the air as the Island Bel Canto Singers, under the direction of Lionel Tanod, prepare for their spring concert.
A Lover and His Lass is the title for the program which will be performed at 7:30 p.m. May 14 at the Nanaimo Ecumenical Centre, 6234 Spartan Rd. The choir will sing a varied repertoire ranging from madrigals to jazz, pop and show tunes. This concert is all about love and spring time. Local singer and actress, Amy Mikkelborg will appear as a guest. She will perform solo as well as with the choir. Musicians Tracy Myers, percussion, and Myron Makepeace, bass guitar, will join accompanist, Sharon Sinclair to add sizzle to the program.
A reception will be held following the concert as a way of thanking the audience.
