Allison Crowe is delighted to be flying home to Canada's West Coast to perform at Nanaimo's 2006 Country Fair. On Sunday, Aug. 20, she'll sing and play on the VIEX mainstage -- capping an exciting weekend of family entertainment at the fair. And, Crowe's appearance will be part of a special 10 Year Island Songbird Reunion.
Crowe is on Canada's Atlantic Coast recording tracks for her album, This Little Bird, to be released this fall. She'll perform at the VIEX before embarking on her next tour of Europe -- with concert engagements in Dublin, London, and Munich. Travel-writer A.P. Rodrigues recently caught up with Crowe to include her in a feature article published in the Toronto Sun on July 1.
This article began: "91原创 singers and bands are known around the world for their brilliant music and great talent but on Canada Day weekend, we find them singing the praises of our country from coast to coast." The writer chose Crowe to represent our province, in a gathering of 91原创 musicians.
Here's what 'Alley' had to say:
"Having been an island girl all my life, (and a water sign, no less), I may be biased. That said, I honestly believe that I will never be able to, for any lengthy period of time, live where I can't reach the ocean whenever I need.
I go to the ocean for serenity and calm, entertainment, scenery, inspiration, sport and activity, gatherings, for therapy, support."
