About 400 customers are without power on southern 91原创 Island on Sunday afternoon.
B.C. Hydro is also reporting 108 customers without power on northern 91原创 Island.
Crews are on their way to West Coast Road, southeast of Parkinson Road. The cause of the outage, which is under investigation, has left 415 customers without power.
A tree which came down across a wire on Norman Road about 6 p.m. Saturday has left five homes without power. Crews are expected to restore power soon.
Downed trees are also causing problems in Port Hardy, where more than 100 people are without power.
B.C. Hydro crews are unable to take water taxis to Quatsino due to high winds. Customers without power there may be out overnight, said B.C. Hydro.
When the wind subsides, crews will be taking the first available water taxi over to make repairs.
