Are you associated with or running as part of a slate? If so, which one?
Community First Langford
Do you live in the municipality where you are running, and if so, for how long? If not, what is your connection to that community?
I have lived in Langford for 37 years. My wife and I have raised our three children here. Langford is a great community for families.
What is your occupation, and for how long?
I work as a safety officer for a local excavating company.

Tell us about your previous elected and/or community experience.
I have served as Chair of Langford’s Protective Services Committee, Chair of the Transportation and Public Works Committee and is Vice-Chair of the Planning, Zoning and Affordable Housing Committee. I am also Vice-Chair of the City’s Parks, Recreation, Culture and Beautification Committee.
I have also been a strong and determined advocate for job growth and recreation in our community. I am extremely proud of the Langford we have built over the last four terms I have served on council.
Why are you running? What’s your motivation?
My passion has been sports - my experience with the West Shore Rebels, Triangle Athletic Association, and Victoria Shamrocks has shown me how important sports are for our youth and all residents in our community. Sport brings a sense of belonging to our residents and helps build a stronger, more connected community. Sports improves the lives of all and contributes to our good health and well being.
I feel privileged to have received the community’s trust in the various roles I’ve had on council and know I can continue on the good work we’ve created.
What are your top three issues?
Affordability – Creating jobs in our community to keep families here is so important. We also need to turn our minds to creating affordable housing options for families.
Parks and Recreation – I want to continue to build parks and recreational facilities for the residents of Langford. We have built our parks from under 30 parks in 1992 to 139 designated parks now in 2022 and I want to continue to build on that strong foundation.
Keeping our Protection Services thriving – I have served on the Protective Services committee and am committed to supporting the good work of the protection services in our community.
What’s your vision for your community in 25 years?
I see Langford as a diverse community that puts families first. A community that prioritizes affordability, good jobs, provides great recreation facilities, amenities, and services. With the completion of the new university – Langford will provide a place where residents can learn skills / professions to keep them here, living in Langford while enjoying the many sports and recreational facilities we have.
What’s one “big idea” you have for your community?
