Kudos to David Lyon for his help in untangling a charge of interference by the former federal attorney general, Jody Wilson-Raybould, in which he points out that her reasoning about her decision not to intervene in the SNC-Lavalin prosecution is still hidden. The possibility of an arbitrary decision on her part needs to be discounted.
Another unexplored area in Wilson-Raybould’s testimony is how the information was leaked to the Globe and Mail before she was granted official clearance to air her grievances. Unanswered, both questions cast a shadow on rules of confidentiality, as well as the rule of law.
