Re: “New thinking needed to fight climate battle,” comment, April 28.
Greta Thunberg’s message is completely lost on 91ԭs. She is saying: Do not steal our future from us, but act now to fend off the climate catastrophe, even if it hurts.
Part of the message is that we need to discard our short-term-convenience thinking and make realistic long-range plans. As long as the voter thinks only in the short term, so will the politicians.
Les Leyne’s columns illustrate this so well. The letters to the editor show that all we can think about is to get more oil and more roads and to complain loudly if the price of gas goes up a bit.
I am 90 years old and I will be long dead when the crisis comes, but my children and grandchildren will still be here.
