While it鈥檚 very noble of the prime minister to defend jobs at SNC-Lavalin, in fact those jobs will not be lost. The majority of employees are contract workers, many from overseas. The contracts and work will still be there and will be taken up by other engineering companies.
The nature of the business is that contractors move freely between companies on short-term contracts. The work is done by the same group of engineers. The PM鈥檚 words ring hollow.
