Langford is using common sense again in discussing the possibility of allowing a project that would be higher than is allowed within its code restrictions. Yet, here in Saanich, some bylaw bureaucrat is not allowing the gnome on Galey Farms because it is 16 inches too high.
Let’s use common sense. Rules are tools used to do your job right. They can be bent to accommodate special circumstances. Then there are the rules for fools and common sense is thrown out the window.
