Is anybody ready to help Jody Wilson-Raybould down off that giant pedestal she has created for herself?

I would have expected any government to consider and promote the perfectly legal option available in the SNC-Lavalin case, in view of the consequences to 8,000 or 9,000 innocent employees. This case is now 10 years old and the principals involved in the scandal are long gone. Apparently, the prosecutor and former justice minister agreed that justice would be better served by going ahead with the prosecution.

Wilson-Raybould states that she was unduly pressured and that there were 鈥渧eiled鈥 threats. In her testimony, however, she revealed that she had threatened the prime minister.

In my work experience, if I threatened the head of the company, it would be a swift journey to unemployment. Members of any government cabinet should discuss all options and have different opinions, and if a member does not agree with a conclusion, the options are to respect the party鈥檚 decision or resign. Wilson-Raybould did neither.

As for Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer鈥檚 self-righteous indignation, if this scandal had not occurred and SNC-Lavalin were prosecuted, I can just imagine Scheer鈥檚 response to the loss of so many jobs and the impact on the economy. 鈥淲hy did the prime minister not do more to protect the economy?鈥
