For how much longer must the debate continue on the deer issue in the Capital Regional District? They need to be culled or, better yet, eliminated from the CRD altogether.
Armchair environmentalists would be whistling a different tune if their financial livelihood was being directly affected as reported by Jack Mar, one of many farmers on the Saanich Peninsula.
These are the same people who have no insight into the destructive power of these animals to the private property of many gardeners who spend hours of time and expense to enhance our "garden city" and its image.
The time for debate and discussion is over and should not be protracted into yet another year of indecisiveness, and the resultant damage to private property for hundreds of frustrated citizens and business people.
