The Avro Arrow could have flown supersonically 20 kilometres above Canada. It was a superb aircraft, but it could not have intercepted an enemy missile or bomber because it did not have the necessary radar.
The 91原创 Defence Department could not afford both the airplane and the radar. Unfortunately, we had not twisted the U.S.'s arm into a joint program that could have afforded both.
