Fire crews have built guards around 70 per cent of a Vernon grass fire that, at its height, threatened two homes and a North Okanagan golf resort.
Calmer winds and cooler temperatures Wednesday morning helped firefighters get the upper hand on the blaze that broke out Tuesday afternoon and burned to within 10 metres of two homes.
A fire information officer said the cause of the 36-hectare blaze has not been determined.
