Saanich police arrested a 21-year-old man at gunpoint after he threatened people with knives early Sunday.
Several people were confronted outside a convenience store at Burnside Road West and Harriet Road around 1 a.m. by an agitated, intoxicated man waving two knives at them, Saanich police said.
Police were called and the man fled. The suspect was arrested 15 minutes later after he ran out of a nearby building. A folding utility knife and steak knife were seized.
