A 70-year-old Saanich man who left his home for a bike ride on Canada Day hasn’t been heard from since, police say.
William Bender, who is known to bike around the University of Victoria and PKOLS (Mt. Douglas Park) area, left his home in the 3200-block of Service Road at around 1 p.m. on Monday and hasn’t been seen or heard from since, said Saanich police.
Bender is described as bald, six-feet-two and weighing around 200 pounds. Police believe he was wearing a green button-up shirt, blue shorts and a headlamp and carrying a black backpack at the time he left his house.
