Victoria police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run and taken to hospital on Thursday morning.
The incident happened at 7:15 a.m. in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Bay Street and Oregon Avenue.
The driver of a newer-model white Mercedes was travelling east on Bay Street when the pedestrian was hit. The driver then fled.
Officers are seeking witnesses and dashcam or video footage related to the time and area.
B.C. Emergency Health Services transported the pedestrian, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, to hospital for further treatment.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
Victoria police are urging the driver of the Mercedes to come forward. Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dashcam or video footage, is asked to contact the report desk at 250- 995-7654 and reference file number 25-1904.
