Many flights in and out of Victoria International Airport were cancelled Tuesday due to the heavy snowfall, with disruptions expected to continue as crews work to clear away snow.
By noon on Tuesday, about two dozen flights had been cancelled and 18 flights had been delayed, said Rod Hunchak, airport spokesman.
Some later flights currently showing as on time in notifications will likely see their status change throughout the day, Hunchak said.
At 91原创 International Airport, where many travellers heading to and from Victoria normally catch connecting flights, cancellations are expected to continue through the day and week ahead, YVR said on social media.

Hunchak said Victoria’s airport was fairly quiet Tuesday morning, as air carriers did a good job of notifying passengers that flights were cancelled or delayed, while the airport also put out notices.
One advantage of the morning’s cancellations was that they gave airport maintenance crews the chance to get on the runways to remove snow and ice without interruptions, Hunchak said.
Crews started preparing Monday and worked into the night, he said, clearing runways and ensuring that roads and parking lots are accessible.
“So we are not out of the woods yet.”
