A fundraising event at the Shirley Community Hall for the family of three-year-old Hannah Day, who has a rare form of cancer, will now be held Saturday, rather than Sunday.

Saturday's gathering will run from noon to 4 p.m. in the hall at the corner of Sheringham Point Road and West Coast Road and feature plenty of live music - including the Sea Monkeys.

Donovan Ray, chief of the Shirley Fire Department, said the small community has previously been very successful at staging fundraising events.

Hannah's grandparents live in the Shirley area, Ray said, and people want to help the family. Not only have parents Brooke Ervin and Robert Day put their jobs on hold to be with Hannah at B.C. Children's Hospital in 91原创, they are still recovering from the loss of their home and business in a fire.

Donations can be made at angels for hannah.com or indiegogo.com/healhannah or through a Facebook page titled "Help get little Hannah cancer free." A fund has also been set up at Coast Capital Savings in the Day name.
