One person was killed and three critically injured in a plane crash Monday near Peachland, emergency services officials said.

The injured were transferred by helicopter to Kelowna General Hospital, said B.C. Ambulance Service spokeswoman Chris Harbord.

An air ambulance delivered one patient to hospital at 7: 30 p.m. after the incident 30 kilometres west of Kelowna.

The Ambulance Service dispatched three ground ambulances and a helicopter after receiving a call at 5: 25 p.m. reporting a downed Piper P30 off of Highway 97 with four people on board.

Fire responders and RCMP also arrived on the scene.

Rescue personnel parachuted into the site near Brenda Mines Road, search and rescue officials said.

The incident occurred in nearly the exact same location as a floatplane crash two months ago.

The crash killed the pilot and two passengers when the plane slammed into a steep, wooded hillside along Highway 97C, 30 kilometres west of Okanagan Lake on May 14. - 91原创 Sun
