In Central Saanich, incumbent Ryan Windsor was acclaimed to the mayor’s seat. Windsor was elected to council in a 2013 byelection, elected mayor in 2014 and acclaimed as mayor in 2018.
He’ll be joined at the council table by all five veteran council candidates: Niall Paltiel, Zeb King, Bob Thompson, Gord Newton and Christopher Graham.
Newcomer Sarah Riddell was elected with the most votes of all the candidates, with preliminary results indicating she earned 3,066 votes, just ahead of Paltiel at 3,049 votes.
Riddell will be the first woman at the Central Saanich council table since the 2018 election.
