Dear Dr. Roach: I am 89 and just learned that I have the first stages of bed sores on my buttocks. My dermatologist said that I should stay off of it as much as possible and apply hydrocortisone cream.

Dear Dr. Roach: I had a synovial cyst removed from my spine at the L4-L5 (lower back) in 2008. Ever since that surgery, I wake up in the middle of the night with numbness and tingling in either one or both hands — sometimes several times a night.

Dear Dr. Roach: About 10 years ago, after a blood test, my doctor noted that my triglycerides were about 450, whereas the norm would be below 150. He didn’t seem alarmed, so for the next two years I did nothing and they remained in the 400 range.

Dear Dr. Roach: My good childhood friend recently passed away from a hemopericardial aortic dissection at the age of 45.

Dear Dr. Roach: I’m a 72-year-old female recently diagnosed with lichen sclerosus of the vulva. The issue started about four years ago with a rash on my buttock, for which I used every over-the-counter medication available.

Dear Dr. Roach: Last November, I complained of pain in my right ear. I went to the emergency room and was, oddly, treated for diarrhea. (I will not return to that ER ever again.

Dear Dr. Roach: I recently went to my family doctor, complaining of left-arm pain and heartburn-like pain in my throat area. He said that he could admit me to the hospital for two days of testing or that it could be a pinched nerve in my neck.

Dear Dr. Roach: I’m an 87-year-old female who still works part time and still drives and gets around without any help. I’m in fairly good health, except that my creatinine is high. I believe that normal creatinine is about .07-1.00.

Dear Dr. Roach: I am an 80-year-old woman with controlled high blood pressure. I am mildly active and, though I tire easily, I have no complaints. My blood pressure in the past was difficult to control.
