Dear Dr. Roach : I am conflicted about getting a shingles shot. When I was young, I had a mild case of chickenpox. Last year, I contracted a mild case of shingles. I had decided previously not to get the Zostrix shot.

What a sad, thought-provoking photo, published in the Globe and Mail newspaper. It shows Sudan, the last male northern white rhino, unable to stand. You can see the terrible frustration and pain on his face.

Dear Dr. Roach: Several months ago, you had an article in the paper about an 82-year-old man who had a constipation problem. You mentioned a couple of medications to take.

Dear Dr. Roach: My husband is physically fit and works out daily through biking, elliptical trainer, playing hockey, working outside, etc. He is of appropriate weight, and his cholesterol and sugar numbers are normal, as is his blood pressure.

Dear Dr. Roach: A recent MRI of my internal auditory canals revealed an incidental finding of 鈥渕icroangiographic changes鈥� in the area of the pons.

Dear Dr. Roach: My 89-year-old husband died two years ago, and it has been a great sorrow and puzzlement to me and his family that his death certificate listed the cause of death as Lewy body disease.

Dear Dr. Roach: I am a 69-year-old male with very low testosterone levels. My doctor started me on a testosterone cream and increased the frequency of application twice, trying to get my testosterone blood levels to 鈥渘ormal鈥� without success.

A a Spanish proverb states: 鈥淗e loses all who loses the right moment.鈥� I had a similar thought a few weeks ago when I wrote that, 鈥渁 brain that鈥檚 full of knowledge has no room left to dream.

Dear Dr. Roach: Thirty years ago, when I was in my 40s, I was diagnosed with bronchiolitis, which was considered a disease of young children. When lying down in bed at night, I coughed to clear my rattly chest and, suddenly, could not breathe at all.

Dear Dr. Roach: My older daughter has had headaches most of her life. When she was young, she thought it was normal. Severe migraines started around 1995. Many doctors later, they came up with diagnosis of a Chiari malformation.
