Tickets for the Victoria Symphony’s anticipated 2024-25 season go on sale Tuesday morning, but fans will need to act quickly if they hope to grab seats for one particularly in-demand appearance.
The season runs from Sept. 15, 2024, through May 11, 2025, and consists of 30 events — the highest-profile of which is the May 4 guest appearance by cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
The acclaimed 19-time Grammy Award winner (who was named to Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2020 list) has not performed with the symphony since 2015, and his return to the Royal Theatre has drawn immense interest, according to the symphony.
Eighty per cent of the 1,400 seats to Yo-Yo-Ma’s concert have already been sold during a pre-sale made available to the symphony’s annual season subscribers, which will make for a hectic Tuesday morning. There is a maximum of four tickets per Yo-Yo Ma order, and they can only be purchased through the symphony box office (250-385-6515) or by or visiting the symphony in-person at 620 View St, Suite 610, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each weekday.
