VANCOUVER 鈥 B.C. Hydro crews hope to restore power to thousands of homes in the Lower Mainland by mid-morning after a windstorm knocked trees onto power lines overnight.
Close to 10,000 customers, mostly in 91原创, Burnaby and the North Shore, were without power at the height of the outage. By 6 a.m., about 2,800 homes were still in the dark.
鈥淐rews will continue to work throughout the morning until they get everyone鈥檚 power back on,鈥 B.C. Hydro spokeswoman Moira Scott said.
鈥淥ur crews have been repairing damaged lines, power poles and transformers.鈥
B.C. Hydro estimated most would have electricity again by 10 a.m.
