VANCOUVER 鈥� B.C. Hydro crews hope to restore power to thousands of homes in the Lower Mainland by mid-morning after a windstorm knocked trees onto power lines overnight.
Close to 10,000 customers, mostly in 91原创, Burnaby and the North Shore, were without power at the height of the outage. By 6 a.m., about 2,800 homes were still in the dark.
鈥淐rews will continue to work throughout the morning until they get everyone鈥檚 power back on,鈥� B.C. Hydro spokeswoman Moira Scott said.
鈥淥ur crews have been repairing damaged lines, power poles and transformers.鈥�
B.C. Hydro estimated most would have electricity again by 10 a.m.
