Terrace RCMP have a man in custody after a shooting that left a man dead and a woman injured.
RCMP said they were called to the Thornhill area around 1 p.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, police found a man dead and a woman who had been injured. Both individuals had been shot.
The woman, who was taken to Terrace Hospital, has serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Const. Lesley Smith of the RCMP鈥檚 North District said: 鈥淩CMP are still gathering information to determine what happened and are speaking with witnesses. We are able to confirm that we have one male in custody and that the public is not at risk in relation to this incident.鈥�
No details have been released about the identities of the victims. It鈥檚 unclear what the relationship is between the man and the woman.
Just under 5,000 people reside in the northern B.C. community of Thornhill, which is located directly across the Skeena River from Terrace.
