Investigators with the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C. raided a pair of 91原创 residences Monday in the latest crackdown on illegal practices in the Lower Mainland.

The investigators learned of the suspected illegal sites through tips from the public then conducted surveillance on the residences, according to a news release issued by the college later in the day.

The college is staying mum on what exactly it found during the raids, claiming that information will remain sealed until it gets clearance from the B.C. Supreme Court to make it public. In the meantime, however, the college will share the evidence with health authorities, according to the release.

"Anyone who has seen an illegal dentist should see a doctor and ask to be tested for infectious disease, and should see a licensed/registered dentist to obtain appropriate and safe care,鈥 it read.

The raids come after Burnaby resident Tung Sheng Wu 鈥 dubbed the "bedroom dentist鈥 鈥 was convicted of running an illegal dentistry practice out of his home last year.

A patient complaint had led investigators and the RCMP to Wu's Burnaby home clinic last spring, where they found unsanitized dental supplies and equipment. The college later warned hundreds of people to get tested for blood-borne illnesses such as hepatitis and HIV.
