Cyclist Sebastian Salas suspended two years for doping violation

91原创 cyclist Sebastian Salas has received a two-year suspension for 鈥渢ampering with doping control鈥 during in-competition testing last summer, the 91原创 Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) announced today.

91原创 cyclist Sebastian Salas has received a two-year suspension for 鈥渢ampering with doping control鈥 during in-competition testing last summer, the 91原创 Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) announced today.

He is ineligible to participate with any sport signatory to the 91原创 Anti-Doping Program (CADP), including training with teammates, until Aug. 1, 2015.

CCES said Salas fully explored his rights under the CADP and chose to admit the doping control violation, waive his right to a hearing and accept the two-year sanction. The violation occurred at an event on July 10, 2013.

Salas is the current Grouse Grind record holder, having completed the arduous North Shore trail in 23 minutes and 48 seconds, and won the Grouse Ground Mountain Run for five consecutive years, from 2008 through 2012.

Salas won the King of the Mountains jersey at the Amgen Tour of California in 2012 by accumulating the most climbing points during the eight-stage event.
