British Columbia man second suspect in fatal Saskatchewan fire

LA RONGE, Sask. — A second person has been charged in the deaths of a two men in a northern Saskatchewan house fire more than four years ago. Jack Cochrane and Phillip Nighttraveller were killed in the January 2010 blaze in Uranium City.

LA RONGE, Sask. — A second person has been charged in the deaths of a two men in a northern Saskatchewan house fire more than four years ago.

Jack Cochrane and Phillip Nighttraveller were killed in the January 2010 blaze in Uranium City.

Michael LaRocque, a 29-year-old man from Stony Rapids, Sask., was arrested early last month and charged with two counts of manslaughter.

RCMP now say a 31-year British Columbia man was arrested recently on 91Ô­´´ Island and is facing the same charges.

Christopher Champagne was returned to Saskatchewan and was to make his first court appearance today in La Ronge.
