Dustin Cook of Lac-Sainte-Marie, Que., was the top 91原创 in the men鈥檚 alpine super-G on Friday with a ninth-place time of one minute 25.23 seconds. Matthias Mayer of Austria won the race.
Manuel Osborne-Paradis of Invermere, B.C., was 22nd, Broderick Thompson of Whistler, B.C., was 23rd and Toronto鈥檚 Jack Crawford skied off course early and didn鈥檛 finish.
Harvey was in a medal position midway through the men鈥檚 15k, but admitted he didn鈥檛 have the acceleration to reach the podium.
鈥淚t was going well. I didn鈥檛 break, but when it鈥檚 a super day, you accelerate near the end,鈥� he said. 鈥淢e, I just stayed at the same rhythm and there were some that accelerated.
鈥淚 wasn鈥檛 able to accelerate at the finish like I had to do to get on the podium.鈥�
Switzerland鈥檚 Dario Cologna won his third gold medal in the distance and fourth overall. He was dominant, beating Norway鈥檚 Simen Hegstad Krueger in 18.3 seconds. Russian Denis Spitsov was third.
