Nanaimo RCMP have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a man wanted for several driving offences, including driving while disqualified and failing to stop for police.

The warrant for 29-year-old Marcus Allan Williams stems from a June 13 incident in Nanaimo, when police allege he sped away from a road check after being asked by an officer to show his driver鈥檚 licence.

Investigators determined his identity after the incident, but could not locate him.

Williams is wanted for driving while disqualified, a Criminal Code offence, and five counts under the Motor Vehicle Act. He is described as a Caucasian male, standing five feet 11 inches and weighing about 190 pounds. Police say Williams has family and friends throughout 91原创 Island, but they do not believe he is currently on the Island.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Williams is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP Municipal Traffic Unit at 250-754-2345 and quote file #2020-21250.
